Originally from Brooklyn (Park Slope area), now living in Florida... I went to a new pizzeria and found MS... It brought so many wonderful memories back to me that it brought tears to my eyes...I can't tell you what MS means to me... not only the taste of the drink, but the good times I shared with my family drinking one... on hot days, my mother would freeze them in ice cube trays and we would eat it frozen, like italian ices... Introducing it to my English husband for the first time... giving a 'sip' to my son... most of all, my dad buying me one everytime I went with him to 'The Club' ... it was either Crodino or MS... but MS was a bigger bottle and definitely tastier...!!! I hope to find a location close to me where I can buy it at a better price than the $3 a bottle they charge in this pizzeria... I buy it anyway as a treat, but would love to get it by the case!!! I love you guys!!!!

What wonderful memories come to people like me who loved your soda all their lives! It makes me smile to hear everyone's stories. I was born in Besonhurst Brooklyn, 8002 21st Avenue (I know it rhymes!). Since I was a kid, my tastes for what to snack on changed, but what to wash it down with was never in question when I saw the familiar little bottles lining the cooler. Even the sound of the bottles clinking together as you grab one from a group is familiar. I was a bit sad when I saw the labels change after all these years...maybe every year on your anniversary, you could bring back labels from the past, after all these years, I bet there's labels I've never seen. Thanks for the memories!

I grew up on Skillman Ave between Union & Lorimer. I could see the Manhattan Special plant from our windows on the third floor. We all grew up drinking "coffee soda", as we called it. There is no other flavor like it. I didn't even know this website existed until one of the "kids" I went to OLMC with sent it to me! It makes me glad to know that as things change all around us, one thing is constant: the inimitable "coffee soda" taste!!! Don't ever change it!

Dear M.S. - LOVE your drinks! My experience with your products began 6 years ago, while dating a nice fella named Tony. I made sure that in my conversations with him I managed to find out about all the things he really liked (so I could get them for him). One was his love for Manhattan Special. I checked out all the stores in my then neighborhood Bay Ridge, Bklyn, until I found your delicious coffee sodas. I stocked my refrigerator with them, so that whenever he visited me I could always offer him one. We were married a year later. Coincidence?? I THINK NOT! 🙂 Now we serve it at all out family parties and there's a whole new generation of M.S. fans. My inlaws want to know if you are going to start shipping it out to Indianna. Thanks for everything. Maryanne

That combination is to die for and on a hot night it's so refreshing.I used to own a restaraunt and i sold it quite well. Raised in Alabama, I never heard of a Manhattan Special until I saw it in the cooler behind the register at my friend Jerry's Italian restaurant. Next time we ate there, they only had one left. I got it. The next time we ate there they had 20 of 'em. I took home 15 of 'em. What can I say, they're better than beer on a hot day like today in Alabama.

I grew up in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, having been raised by a loud, loving and supportive Italian family. I passed the Manhattan Special plant each day on my way to school..PS 132. My cousins lived in the area of Skillman Avenue and Manhattan Avenue so this plant was a landmark for us. I ALWAYS loved the soda and cannot find it here in northern California where I now live. When visiting Brooklyn, I always stock up and have introduced my daughters to this great drink. I love visiting the old neighborhood. It brings back my most pleasant and joyful memories. I feel fortunate to have come from such a diversified and exciting area of Brooklyn. I am happy to say that my childhood friends and I stay in touch to this day and visit whenever I come into the city.

I am absolutely, positively lost without my Manhattan Special. It's the best drink on the planet, IMHO. I need two or three every evening with my roll-ups... in front of the computer screen... web-surfing. Every other week I buy it by the case from Jerry's Gourmet in Englewood, but unfortunately, they seem to be running out of their supply sooner of late; this time I've been waiting two entire weeks for my MS fix! I wish I could order it directly from the manufacturer... something to look into.

I also grew up on 187th Street and Arthur Ave! It was the 50's and 60's. I remember Manhattan Specials being a special treat, even though my parents and grandparents would buy it for us at the drop of a hat, not as a reward or anything. It's hard to believe 5 year old kids drinking the equivelant of 10 espresso coffees in one shot, but what else could have fueled our all day long stickball and stoopball sessions. Ringolevio, Johnny on the Pony. We were always out. I moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1989 and for 14 years the urge for a coffee soda never left. Imagine my joy, and horror, to find out there was a store less than a mile from my home that sold Manhattan Specials that whole time! My brother and I would clean out their stock every week, 3 large bottles every day for months. Yes, I noticed the heart palpitations from so much caffiene! I've since left Florida and am once again in Manhattan Special withdrawal. I've got a friend from Louisiana who's dying to try one just from what I've told him about them. Hopefully I'll find a local distributor soon here in Dixie.

All I know is that it tasted better when I had the whole bottle in my mouth. I live in Merrit Island, Florida now and have a hard tme finding it along with Red Pack Tomatos and pine nut cookies. You haven't really enjoyed a Special until you taste it "ON TAP" at Ferdinando's on Union Street, in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Madon,it The best!! One of my fonder memories of summers when I was a child was drinking an ICE COLD SPECIAL while eating a sausage and pepper sandwich and a bag of zeppole at the "Mt. Carmel Feast"!! We didn't have to travel far for great memories! My family (from over 100 years ago!!) comes from Leonard and Withers Streets, just a few short blocks from the Manhattan Special factory. Everyone in my family has been drinking this GREAT drink (known simply as a "Special" in our house, as in "Philly, get the Special" or "Wanna Special?") since we were old enough to hold a glass. I now live on Long Island and while I can find my Special in stores (2 1/2 cases a week goes in my house) I can not find the other flavors. I guess I could stop on Meeker Ave at the beer distributor (Is BERLIN still there?) to find it, but Special has to be made more accessible in other places. While I want to keep "Special" to ourselves, like all great things, it must be shared with the world. JUST DON'T CHANGE THE RECIPE.

Well I have to say Starbucks has nothing on manhattan special and I will be getting some in to show people what the original is like. I even have to make my own cannoli and rainbow cookies because you can't get them here. Everytime I go home to Brooklyn to visit I gain 10 lbs. I love NY

I was first tried a Manhattan Special in 1981. I was told to try it by my wife whom was from Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. I at first did not want to try it as I was told it was " coffee soda " and being such a picky person, I said how could anything taste good that was a coffee soda ? Well here it is, 2007 almost, and I am still drinking it and now my oldest daughter Melissa, 18 is addicted to it. Nothing at all can come close to it !

I drink 5 manhattan specials a day... at night I make sure I have at least one in the house for morning - I hide them - LOL - because if I don't everyone else in the house drinks them... When we go away on vacation I pack one for each day. I am a flight attendant and when passengers see me drinking it - they are like "do you serve that? Can I have one?" and then proceed to tell me their family memories of the drink. While we were making our Christmas Eve plans (I am having everyone over) and determining who was making the fish salad and such, I found myself laughing when we got into the who is bringing the Manhattan Special... big bottles or cases of small... conversation...lol. It wouldn't be a 'celebration' without Manhattan Special!!! My only wish... please make the small bottles easier to open - I have a never healing wound on my middle finger from struggling with the caps 🙂 Oh - and wouldn't it be great if you distributed to JFK - I have a contact for you if you are interested ") Happy Holidays!!!!!

One day i was visiting a friend when i came to her back door i saw her standing there with her head titled back as if staring into space but she was facing a kitchen cabinet shaking her head back and forth, she did this for about 5 minutes and then i walked in and there she was drinking your soda. i thought it was the funniest thing ever, she stated it took her back to when she was a teenager and that thatwas the reason why she was lost in space. I dont know what you put in your soda but thank you for taking my friend back to her teenage years..

Manhattan Special is the best! There should be a Manhattan Special store on every corner, not Starbucks.

We have been drinking Manhattan Special for 47 years. My Grandfather would bring it from Brooklyn to Connecticut as a treat. It's been a family favorite, especially at Christmas. I just bought 3 cases (purchased in Manchester,VT of all places) and gave two to my Mom (she was thrilled. Now my son (fourth generation to enjoy it!) is hooked. I am sure Manhattan Special will be in our family for years to come. Thanks

Had my first bottle of MS over the Thanksgiving holidays while visiting family on the North Fork. WOW!! What a taste, what a pleasure. My biggest fear now is finding it again due to an impending move back to the midwest. Why do these things happen to me?

A volunteer at the walk, it was my first time trying their NATURAL SODAS and i love it! I can't wait until I find a retailer by by home so I can have it all the time. And I may only be 16 but I know their drinks will follow me throughout life!!!

If there were any logic in the world of consumerism, Manhattan Special would be a household name and best selling beverage. I used to work in Eastern District HS on Grand Street and walked back home to Greenpoint by way of Manhattan Avenue. My daily pilgrimmage. A factory tour would be special, Manhattan Special. Many more years for your great products and best wishes for commercial success.
